My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow this book Cowboy, It's Cold Outside ( Montana Born Christmas, #4)
by Katherine Garbera, doesn't disappoint, it starts are with a "bang".

Lucy DeMarco is in town, she needed to get away, With both her parents gone, she didnt feel like being with other relatives for the Christmas season.

Trey Scott came home and found Lucy at his family's home. Surprise, beautiful woman, stuck in a snow storm and well lets just say it is for mature audiences.

This story came on fast, strong and held out all the way through.

Great read, love the Author, cant wait to read more from Katherine Garbera.

Thanks to Netgalley and Tule Publishing for letting me review this book. I thought it was great.

Book Review: Dealy Tasting by Jean-Pierre Alaux and Noel Balen

Deadly TastingDeadly Tasting by Jean-Pierre Alaux
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Well first, I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

The book Deadly Tasting by Jean-Pierre Alaux, was interesting, but kind of boring to me.

I found the main character Benjamin to be interesting, and same with his wife putting him on a cabbage soup diet. I also thought the wine information was interesting even though I don't drink wine. But I was lost in the middle of the book, there was a lot of WW11 info and about wine. That was of course intersting.

I don't feel the characters were developed as well as they should have been, I kept losing track of who was who. The book did read fast, and was interesting, and the main story line of a murder, with 12 wine glasses is great, I just think there needed to be more to this plot.

I recommend this book to others who like French wine and history. I thought I would have liked the history part but the presentation of it was boring.
I do love the cover on this book.

What Goodreads says the book is about:
A serial killer is on the loose in Bordeaux. A local chief detective calls wine expert Benjamin Cooker to the crime scene of a brutal murder. The killer has left a strange calling card: twelve wine glasses lined up in a semi-circle with the first one filled with wine. Cooker is charged with the task of identifying the fabulous grand cru and is astonished by what he learns. A second victim is found, with two glasses filled. Is the killer intentionally leaving clues about his victims and his motives? Memories are jogged about the complicated history of Bordeaux during Nazi occupation. It was a dark time: weinfuhrers ruled the wine trade, while collaborationists and paramilitary organizations spread terror throughout the region. In present-day wine country, time is running out. Will Cooker and his young assistant Virgile solve the mystery before all twelve glasses are full

Book Review: The Ghost By Danielle Steel

The GhostThe Ghost by Danielle Steel
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Ghost: By Danielle Steel

As I was sitting here reflecting on what was one of the best books I have ever read, and the book that always comes to my mind is The Ghost by Danielle Steel. It has been a long time since I have read this book, but what I remember most is it got me wanting to do genealogy.

Here is a story of a Man who ended up staying at a remote, exquisite lakeside chateau. Hidden deep in the woods. The home belong to a woman who lived and died there two centuries ago. He, Charles Waterson, feels a presents, he even sees a glimpse of her. He finds her diaries and reads them, he is transformed in time back to her life.

This book was written so well, so exquisite that I still remember the story, 15 years later, it touched my heart, made me want to read diaries of my family. I have not found any diaries but I have found so much history of my family. All because this wonderful story which has nothing to do with genealogy but I was just so interested in the history and that Danielle Steel written this story and helped me want to learn more.

I just wanted to share this about this book, if you ever get a chance to read this one, I recommend it. Great and tragic love story.

What Amazon.com says about the book:

With a wife he loves and an exciting London-based career, architect Charles Waterston's life seems in perfect balance. Nothing in his comfortable existence prepares him for the sudden end to his ten-year marriage—or his unwanted transfer to his firm's New York office. With nothing left to lose, Charlie takes a leave of absence from his job to drive through New England, hoping to make peace with himself.

Christmas is approaching when Charlie leaves New York, heading to Vermont to ski. But a sudden, blinding snowstorm strands him in a small Massachusetts town. There, as if by chance, Charlie meets an elderly widow who offers to rent him her most precious possession: a remote, exquisite lakeside chateau. Hidden deep in the woods, it once belonged to a woman who lived and died there two centuries before. Her name was Sarah Ferguson. And from the moment Charlie sets foot inside the chateau's graceful depths, he feels her presence, and longs to know more about the life she led.

It is Christmas Eve when Charlie first glimpses her, a beautiful young woman with jet black hair. He thinks it is a neighbor playing a joke on him, until he finds her diaries hidden away in an old trunk. As he begins to turn the brittle, dusty pages, Sarah Ferguson comes alive. Intrigued and unafraid, Charlie immerses himself in the diaries, eager to learn more about the woman for whom the house was built. Sarah's first entry is dated 1789, the year she arrived in America. Without self-pity or sentiment, she writes of her harrowing journey from her native England, having fled the brutality of her aristocratic husband. Settling in Massachusetts, Sarah finds an unfamiliar land seething with the turbulence of the Indian wars. Determined to start a new life in the vast new world, Sarah finds freedom—and danger—as she builds her home in the wilderness and meets a man who will transform her life. His name is François de Pellerin, a French nobleman adopted by Indians and drawn into the battle for the growing nation. Their fateful union is a testament to a love so powerful it reaches across the centuries. And for Charlie Waterston, caught between Sarah's world and his own, their story is a gift—one that gives him the courage to let go of his past, and the freedom to grasp a future that is right before his eyes.

Book Review: Double-Take Tales by Donna Brown

Double-take TalesDouble-take Tales by Donna  Brown
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I wasn't sure if I wanted to read this or not, it is just a short story, with 3 even shorter stories, and WOW I loved it!!!

I was hooked on each word with each story, they were all great:

(In "Poison," a psychologically abused wife discovers that her husband's nut allergy may be the solution to all her problems.)  I am sure many have thought it, but for something to happen like this, awesome job, well written.

(In "Round Trip," a five pound note passes through desperate hands, greedy hands and tired hands before coming full circle… accompanied by a big surprise. )  All I thought about each person in this story, they had some luck, they may not of realized it but they did.

(In "C'est La Vie," the police bungle a murder investigation under the watchful eye of someone uncomfortably close to the killing.) Chilling but intriguing.

I can see all these stories being on a tv show are a movie, the writing is superb!!! I am glad I found this book on Amazon.com I highly recommend this book.
